Anthony Cataldo’s Wagon Wheel debut was this summer. He joined the Wagon Wheel family for all six shows of the regular summer season and played a variety of roles from Curly, the handsome leading man in Oklahoma! to the comedic Captain Black Stach in Peter and the Starcatcher.

What was your favorite role?

  • Mr. Wormwood – Matilda
  • R.F. Simpson – Singin’ in the Rain
  • Curly – Oklahoma
  • Sam Cartwright – Mamma Mia!
  • Black Stach – Peter and the Starcatcher
  • J.D. Drew – Hands on a Hardbody

Anthony graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with his BFA in Acting and Minor in Musical Theatre. Originally from Salisbury, NC, Anthony’s experience at the Wagon Wheel and in Warsaw far exceeded his wildest expectations. “The professionalism and quality of shows that are produced at the Wagon Wheel rival any famous summer stock in the nation. But what really sets ‘the Wheel’ apart from everywhere else is the people. The creatives, the management, the patrons, and the cast were all so incredibly welcoming, and made my experience completely unforgettable.”

And all the hard work Anthony put in this summer paid off with an offer to join the National Broadway Tour of Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville. Anthony closed Hands on a Hardbody in Warsaw on a Saturday and flew to New York Sunday afternoon to start rehearsals for this good time show! “My experience with Jimmy Buffett’s Escape to Margaritaville in New York has been amazing! Honestly, my time at the Wagon Wheel this summer prepared me, two fold, for this rehearsal process. The fact that the Wagon Wheel creates six fully produced musicals, at the highest caliber, in only ten days, is unheard of.”

Anthony will be in the ensemble and understudying three male leads (Brick, Chad, and J.D.) in Jimmy Buffet’s Escape to Margaritaville. Catch Anthony in Escape to Margaritaville in a city near you: escapetomargaritavillemusical.com
