From the Wagon Wheel stage to the Board of Directors
I can’t think of a better way to close out the year than by spotlighting my friend, Wagon Wheel Professional Theatre alumnus and new Board member, David Schlumpf. He’s also Kira’s best friend, so he gets bonus points with me by default. 😉
You might remember David from playing Lord Farquaad in Shrek, Corny Collins in Hairspray, and Clayton in our regional premiere of Disney’s Tarzan. Did you see South Pacific this past summer? David directed that production, too! He joined our Board just a few months ago and is already doing incredible work for Wagon Wheel.
He even hopped on a plane a few short weeks ago to sing at our second annual Gala, Great Performances, Greater Purpose, where he revived his role as Lord Farquaad and also sang a duet with our Buddy the Elf, Jared Alan Price. And let me tell you, it was pure magic. We can’t seem to get rid of this guy, and I hope we never do. He’s truly one of the best people I know.

David is one of the biggest dreamers Wagon Wheel has ever known, and I’m endlessly inspired by the way he continues to dream boldly and help move us forward. 💛
