at Wagon Wheel
Theatre and the arts aren’t just about performing. The arts are about community and gathering together for a common purpose and good.
Everything we create and experience at the Wagon Wheel is powered by people: professionals and volunteers. Volunteers give of their time to strengthen the mission and possibilities at the Wagon Wheel! Are you interested in volunteering? We’re always looking for skilled and courteous individuals to join the signature red-jacketed ushering team, in addition to other volunteer opportunities.
Our signature red-jacketed ushering team is composed of 140 volunteer community members who love the Wagon Wheel and are passionate about supporting the arts. Ushers serve in a variety of ways including greeting, will call, ticket scanning, and helping patrons find their seats.
Scheduling is flexible for ushers and you are not required to usher a certain number of times per year to be considered a Wagon Wheel Usher and eligible for Usher Benefits. You can also set your preferences on the type of programming you wish to usher for.
Requirements & Expectations
- First-year ushers must attend usher orientation.
- You must be 14 years or older to be a volunteer usher.
- Ushers are required to provide their own uniform, though a small collection of red jackets is usually available at usher orientation for new ushers.
- Give good customer service and a friendly smile!
Volunteer ushers are eligible to receive special ticket and concession stand benefits! More information on usher benefits is provided at usher orientation.
There are a variety of other volunteer opportunities at the Wagon Wheel! From skills in sewing, teaching, photography, painting, hospitality and more! If you are interested in lending your specific talents to the Wagon Wheel, then complete our volunteer form to get in touch.
